Red Wine Convert
Well sorry for having been so silent on this for a few weeks.
Yes my boy has been home, been up north and is now importantly back in town. We met up with a whole lot of people for drinks last week which was great. Then we headed down to Margaret River for the weekend which was awesome. Stayed at a place called Redgate Farms, for those who havent been there, a must. There are lots of animals to keep the inner child in you happy (I was in my element feeding the horses and alpacas)..........Needless to say lots of wineries were visited and amazingly enough we seemed to come away with a collection of different wines from the different places. Have re-invented my like for Port and we bought some Boysenberry port (Berry farm) which appears to go down far toooo easily. There was of course the compulsory visit to the Chocolate Factory (for those who havent been they have a bowl full with chocolate buttons which you just help yourself to). Upon leaving, I glanced over to see a child in seventh heaven (you could see the thought process going on..hmmm no mum and dad around, spoon straight from the choc bowl into the mouth in one swift movement...so pleased we only saw that afterwards!)
We went to a brewery (colonial) which was fantastic and again somewhere new....
so all in all lots of wine was bought and sampled and our wine collection is growing!
Heres the low down on places to visit: Cape Grace, Brown Hill estate, Howling wolves winery (great port), watershed winery, Swallows Welcome (where we saw a chapel of flowers which is worth a visit), Cavaliers crest (very small but very worth a visit),Voyager Estates (bit snotty) Vasse Felix (very good and interesting), Happs (again great port made from muscatel grapes), Capel Vale............
Simmos had a compulsory ice cream stop tooo and so did the cheese factory, yumm! (just as well that i dont have to do an exercise stress test or cholesterol at the moment)! For all those going to Margaret River please note: places close half an hour before closing time...nothing like getting out of work on the dot of time and they get very grumpy when routine is changed (if you want to experience this just drive a bus of drunk Scotsmen into a brewery!)
The most important part about the holiday was for us to just hang out and spend time together and the more time that we are together the more i realise how lucky I am and indeed how happy someone makes me everyday...smitten i reckon..hehe!
Well it was back to reality with exercise testing on wednesday and thursday (Bill was at work) talk about back with a bump.
On the PhD front had a good meeting with my supervisor last week which was good although i seem to have come away with a bit more work than i thought, Thanks for that......hmmmm anyway well get there.........baby steps.
The next week promises to be exciting with Aaron and Priyas wedding which I am really looking forward to and it should be great fun.
Hope that you are all well and chat soon......
